Cawl is a traditional Welsh dish which is similar to a vegetable soup. The recipe varies from area to area, and from home to home. You can use any meat or vegetable if you like but here is a traditional recipe for you to try out at home:

Ingredients
- 450g diced Welsh Lamb
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 large onion
- 1 small swede, peeled
- 1 stick celery
- 2 large carrots, peeled
- 2 leeks
- 60g cabbage
- 450g potatoes, peeled
- 1 teaspoon of both thyme and parsley
